What we are

California licenses this work, and the register is public. The number that matters is the one on the contract you are handed, and it belongs to whoever is doing the job. Check it against the state register before anything starts. It takes about a minute and it is worth doing every time.

We do not survey, meter, dry, cut or rebuild. Everything on these pages about how the work is done is written so you can follow what a contractor is telling you, and to make a written scope easier to read. It is not a report on your house.

We do not stand behind the work
The company that takes the job is responsible for it, warrants it, and answers for it. That responsibility does not pass through this site, and a version of it that did pass through would not be worth anything to you, because we would not be the ones fixing the floor.

Four stages, and the useful thing to know is which of them you control. The first two are yours entirely.

Rooms, materials, when it started, and what you have already done about it. Detail is worth more than tidiness here. Nobody is marking the spelling and a long description gets a better answer than a short one.

Pictures taken before anything is moved are the part of this that expires. They are optional and they change the quality of the answer more than anything else on the form.

The claims this site does not make
Read enough pages in this trade and the same reassurances turn up on every one of them, usually about how long the company has been going, what its people have been checked against, and how fast somebody will be at the door. Are you a restoration contractor?
No. This site is a quote service. It takes the description of what has happened in a house and puts it in front of a restoration company working here, so somebody who does the work can price it. The company that turns up is the company that carries the licence, the insurance and the responsibility for the job.
What does it cost to send a request?
Nothing, and there is nothing to agree to. A request is a description of a problem, not an instruction to start work. Sending one does not commit you to a contractor, to a price, or to having anything done at all.
Why is there no address on this site?
Because there is no counter to walk into. This is a quote service rather than a yard with a van outside it, and putting a street on the page would mean inventing one. The area it covers is the city and the surrounding Inland Empire, and that is stated instead.
Who actually reads what I send?
We do, first. No restoration company has standing access to this site today, so a request is read here and then taken to a company working in the city that is willing to price it. Nobody else is given it.
How do I know a quote from here is worth having?
By reading it against rules somebody else set. California requires a written contract on home improvement work over $500, and the Contractors State License Board sets out what that contract has to contain: a payment schedule, a completion date, warranties in writing, and the contractor's own licence number. A quote you can check against a public register and a public rule is worth more than a quote with a badge on it.
